Pagan Easter

This video is inspired by”The Two Babylons” by Alexander Hislop, the websites linked here, and of course my inherent knowledge that holidays are commercial, silly and pagan.Btw,this isn’t a Jehovah’s Witness thing but rather a common sense thing. www.allaboutjesuschrist.org www.zenzibar.com www.albatrus.org

@dhamamy I appreciate those sentiments. However, obviously,God said many things are still defiling.Context is important here.

I went to an Easter Sunrise service to Honor the Risen Savior. To Celebrate the fact somewhere around the time of sunrise Jesus became a “Risen” Savior. It was not to Worship the sun rising, but rather to Worship the Son Rising.

@jerryz71tw But where did the bible say to commemorate Christ’s death with a sunrise service and to name the day you do after a pagan fertility goddess?Just something to think about.

@jerryz71tw Deut 12:30:Do not inquire regarding their gods, ‘How did these nations worship their gods? I, too, would do the same.’

We’re not Celebrating the Death. We’re Celebrating the Resurrection. If there hadn’t been a resurrection there wouldn’t be anything to Celebrate. We may as well worship Buddha or Mohammed or John Smith. Now are you seriously telling me we “Shouldn’t” Celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior?

@howdytheresir We’re not Celebrating the Death of Jesus at Sunrise Service. We’re Celebrating the Fact that on the Third day of his Death he Arose. We’re Celebrating the Life that jesus has so We can have it too. If Jesus hadn’t Arose we may as well worship Buddha, Mohammed or John Smith. Are you telling me that we should not Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus?

@howdytheresir I believe you’re denying the Resurrection because you only talk about Celebrating Christs death.

@jerryz71tw no that’s not what I’m telling you..read through these comments if you care what I’m really trying to do..keep the commemoration of Christ’s resurrection holy, undefiled, free of Babylonian inspired symbols and practices..without bringing in how the pagans honor THEIR gods into how we honor Christ.

  14. howdytheresir says:

@jerryz71tw that’s ridiculous…If the bible says not to inquire how others celebrate their gods and then we do the same, then why is it ok for Christians to see how Baal, the fertility goddess, and Tammuz were all honored and then do the same?

  15. jerryz71tw says:

@howdytheresir By your writing, your implying any Christian who attends a Sunrise Service is Worshipping a Pagan Goddess. My son was the Minister who preached Sunday mornings Sunrise Service. He spoke about the Hope and Future we have because of the Resurrection of Jesus. You may be stuck on a word, or a name for a particular Sunday but you need to get stuck on Christ. He coiuld probably use you then. Does your Church honor the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior?

@howdytheresir You’ve only talked about us Celebrating Christs Death. Somebody hasn’t been to My Church. We celebrate the Resurrection. We didn’t have any Eggs or Bunnies there. Just Christians. May I ask what Church you go to?

  17. howdytheresir says:

@jerryz71tw I didn’t say you’re worshipping a pagan goddess..this video told of the origin of the sunrise service and why Christians do it..because Rome adopted it from the pagans to make Christianity more appealing to them, mixing demon things with godly things.Originally,it had nothing to do with Christ then Rome made it about Christ to attract sun worshippers.

@jerryz71tw Christians celebrate the Passover, not Easter. How do you think God feels when he hears people screaming HAPPY Easter(name of a fertility goddess!) on a day that is supposed to be for his Son?

@howdytheresir Once again, What Church do you go to? Do they Celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ? How about the Birth of Christ?

  20. howdytheresir says:

@jerryz71tw Ok..resurrection,which I knew and accidentally said death…you’re avoiding the issues and haven’t answered any of my questions. Some people don’t care about the origins of holidays nor their sunrise service, which I can’t find in the bible except in the OT in Ez 8:16.I recently came out of the Watchtower organization and don’t attend any church regularly.

  21. howdytheresir says:

@jerryz71tw and if you say “that’s not what it means for me” does it really matter if God himself knows the only reason anyone does it the way they do is because Rome adopted it from Babylon to attract pagans to Christianity? That would be like me being vegan and eating steak and saying “well it wasn’t meat to me!”

  22. howdytheresir says:

@jerryz71tw And what does the name of a fertility springtime goddess have to do with Christ? Why doesn’t it matter to you that what you attend is called an EASTER sunrise service?Every bit of it is pagan originated. From the name to the faces toward the sun..which has NOTHING to do with Christ.

@jerryz71tw That would be like me going to a service called Baal(another pagan god) sunrise service..hopefully you get what I’m saying?
