Question:
Other than Salem, MA, of course. I know New Orleans is up there as well, but what other cities have high and/or growing populations of witches?

I am debating on where to open an occult shop, and I think one of those gains popularity anywhere now days because of the rising interest in Wicca/witchcraft/paganism, but I’ve always wanted to know which cities had the most.
Thank you Srsly and Kent for serious answers – and the whole Wichita, Kansas thing was just stupid and insulting.

REAL information is what I’m looking for. Thanks.
Also, could anyone throw in information on the South? I’d prefer to stay in the South!!

Question for Kemetic pagans – unidentified serpent goddess statue?

Question:
So, possibly foolishly, I bought this statue at a gift shop, of a goddess unknown to me. I figured, the place gets pretty busy, reasonably priced statues are hard to find (this was $10!), and how hard can it be to find online?

Very! I can’t seem to find a match anywhere! Maybe you can help?

To my knowledge, it’s a goddess – slim waist, breasts covered, with a snake head. It doesn’t necessarily look like a cobra, but it is definately a snake. The crown is an atef, but with swirly horns coming out of the sides. If this information doesn’t help, I’ll try to provide pictures.

Renunet? Buto? Mersetger? A fake (which Mom suggested….ugh, I’d be so embarassed)?

Does anyone know?

Pagans: Cosmic Dust?

Question:
I discovered in my basket of “supplies” that I have a little baggie full of yellow powder marked “cosmic dust” that I didn’t know I had. For the life of me, I have no idea what this would be used for! I even tried to google it with no luck. Has anyone ever heard of this or know what it would be used for?? For the sarcastic answer-ers, no..it’s nothing you can smoke, sniff or eat to get high. It was purchased from a metaphysical shop years ago…i’m just not sure why I bought it.
Now see L? You can’t mess with a psychic! ;) LOL

Question:
I’ve recently made friends with a proprietor of a metaphysical/spiritual supply shop. As a gift for the opening of her store, I provided her with a quantity of fresh mistletoe and a couple of ginseng roots. Knowing I am very familiar with wood lore, she offered a business deal based on me providing various supplies, such as ash staves (you know, in connection with Yggdrasil). I’m not sure I would feel right exploiting nature for a personal financial benefit, but I would like to help her out from time to time, and to promote a little diversity in my area’s Bible Belt religious paradigm.

What natural items have you needed in the past that you had difficulty obtaining?

Question:
Sabbat blessings everyone. I’m planning this weekend’s holiday feast & have a full house and trying to think of something different or interesting.

We do brunch in the morning and skip lunch so I wanted to make appetizers… I’ve got a lot of eggs in the fridge so I was thinking baby veggie quiches? I’ve also got some black beans I made yesterday, so I was going to make a dip to serve with salsa and corn chips. Oh, and honey & apples are a must for the kids.

I’m not sold yet, and we have a big family with different tastes, so any ideas?

Dinner’s covered, as shepherds pie with some fresh garden salad, baked home-made herbal breads and home-churned herbal butters is our tradition. Yum I haven’t eaten today so thinking about it is making me hungry. For dessert the kids are making almond cookies with a pentacle press.

I was also thinking maybe a peach pie? Or maybe vanilla ice cream with grilled peaches over it? Something with seasonal fruit.

Any ideas for a non-alcoholic punch or soft drink? I’ll be making mango & strawberry margaritas for the adults but wanted something special for the kids.

I have to go shopping in a couple of hours, any ideas would be great.

As a very spiritual person myself, I know that I’m very picky about the places I’ll shop for my magical goods. So with my own business I’m constantly trying to come up with products that are more unique and special, and above all, better than what else is already out there. I sell a lot of things like custom created altar pentacles, herb and oil blends, and natural/organic items. But times are hard, and unfortunately, people just don’t shop like they used to and this means I need to do some revamping. So I want to know, what kind of products do you buy even when times are tough? And for those who don’t minding taking a look at the links below, how can I improve? If you were one of my customers, what would you like to see added or made better?

i was in an occult shop a few weeks ago and saw a dark blue pyramid candle with beads on the wick. i was wondering if you know anything about these candles, such as use or meaning. i never asked the shopkeeper, which i should have.

okay. . . question about herbs and storage/use of.
1. I store my current stash of herbs (that are done drying) in glass seal tight jars, is that okay? I’m go to the good will shops in my ton and pick them up, are there any other storage ideas that one could find as well?
2. herb bags: can you make your own? and are there patterns they sell? I can figure out how to do the basics, but it’s the draw string close that I’m having a harder time figuring out how to achieve successfully. any suggestions or sites with patterns would be helpful.

3. herbs and oils, I was thinking that you could infuse herbs into oils and that’d keep them longer, but someone said you have to becareful in what oils you use, any suggestions on what types of oils can be used?

thanks for the help in advance. and please dont answer with answers that dont pertain to the topic (aka spelled out: no christians telling me i’m going to burn in h3ll for working with herbs). thanks.

I’ve kind of given up jogging because the area I used to jog in has been torn down and they’re putting in condos and a shopping mall. It used to be overgrown vacant lots and small houses. Now, I even think it would be better to run on one of those stupid machines…
I asked this to pagans because many pagan religions are earth-honoring. I had to make it fit into R&S somehow. :-D Of course I value all answers!
