Cunningham’s classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick, but about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. Wicca also includes Scott Cunni… More >>

ok This is a great book for anyone getting started on the solitary path. it gives loads of information and unfortunately too many people out there can’t actually comprehend things in their meager little brains. The reason he doesen’t present things in a certian fashion is because everyone looks at wicca differently. everyone has their own opinion. some say there shouldn’t be solitary practioners because you can only be initiated, BS alarm people. This tradition is from Gardner there’s no proof that people even initiated themselves long ago.
these coven people get on my last nerve cause they’re like christians, they want things to be their way and not anybody else’s.
Cunningham wrote this book as help for those who wanted to do Wicca alone. Not every one in the world wants to be around people. I am one of them. too many seperated opinions lead to people berating themselves even for religions sake. no one wiccan path is better than the other, and that is what Cunningham, and many others believe. He had a lot of good info in his books and manysolitaries should read his stuff. now as for why I didn’t give it 5 stars simple, no book no matter how good is ever a five star read cause evey thing can be improved upon.
I know this rant isn’t really helpful as a review but I don’t want people to read reviews of this book and be turned off because of someone else’s review, mainly the Idiot who says there should only be coven members. *WRONG* someone had to be solitary in the begining goofball, use logic here not your pasty Ideas of what wicca should be. Thats what caused so many witches to die in the burning times is people believing that there way is the only way and everyone else should follow.
so to those expecting a long thought out review and actually sat and read this I’m terribly sorry it turned into a rant. for those who appretiate my stand on this please feel free to e-mail me at: mmanexe@yahoo.com I won’t respond to those who say hurtful things but if you make a good case in your favor I’d be deligted to debate with you.
blessed be

This book, like all Scott Cunningham’s work is over written and full of mistakes.
A self proclaimed Witch.
His books are rubbish, I could do better, as a person never mind a witch.
To, me he has stolen other peoples ideas, re-worked some and made a lot up.

Probably the worst book I’ve read. Absolutely nothing to do with Wicca, The Craft or whatever your term for it.

i bought this book to get understanding and to try and figure out why wicca is growing and spreding faster than Christianity in our area. i still do not know why. after reading the book i saw how unorganized and everything the religion is. it offers no hope to those who believe and certainly there is no “power to be obtained”… i found the book not only uninteresting, but probably the most misleading of any i have read so far.

I have been into Wicca since I was 6 and now I am 17. I started out with Silver Ravenwolf’s books and I will continue to read them. I bought this book recently and it makes me feel as if the god and goddess are only in nature and not within us. I makes me feel like the god and goddess deal with us here and when we die we have to deal with some one else. I hate this book, it even made me consider Christianity but the Goddess has led me back to Wicca and I will never leave it again. It has also led me to consider Druidry. Well g2g bye bye
