Lady, you are spreading misinformation. Don’t we have enough of that from other religions? Your credibility just took a major nosedive. Your words show you know very little about magic, becasue youspeak of a common misconception that study would have taught you differently.
There is no “white” or “black” magic. Magic is neutral. It is a tool. What is done with it is up to the practitioner. As a “high priestess” you should know that already.

Yes there is white and black magic. I know it’s all about the intention that makes a spell evil or good, but certain spells can only be used one way.
A spell to break someone’s leg = bad = black magic
A love spell (controlling someone’s free will)= bad= black magic
A spell to heal someone= good = white magic
A spell for someone to have good luck in life= good = white magic
A spell to end a wildfire= good – white magic
Sometimes a spell can only have one possible intent.

The terms “white” and “black” are not used by the general witch population of many beliefs, wiccan included. Yes there is destructive and constructive magic. They are not necessarily good or evil.
Is a spell to heal someone always good? What if, for their reasons, they don’t want to be healed? What if they don’t want a spell cast for them at all? Is it still good?

What if that wildfire is necessary for certain plants to propagate, certain life to begin? Did you know that there are pinecones that will not shed their seeds unless they go through high temps, only found in a fire?
It is all about intentions, about focus. To say some spells can have only one intent is over simplifying the human mind.

Fine, but wouldn’t you agree that a spell that is used with bad intent, to harm someone would be black magic? Wouldn’t you agree that there are some witches and wizards who only use their magic for either good or bad? I know there are some who only use their magic when someone upsets them and they want revenge. Would that not make them a black witch/mage/wizard?
Would someone who only uses their powers when someone needs to be healed be called a white witch/mage/wizard?

ReLoad, I know what you are trying to say. My point is that this lady claims to be a Wiccan High Priestess and she speaks of white and black magic. Wiccans don’t use those terms! And most witches don’t either. By using those terms, she looses credibility. It would be like her calling a male wiccan a warlock. Campy and wrong.

Con’t- If you use the general public’s (and Hollywood) definition of the word, yes, magic for evil would be called Black magic. I do not equate black or dark or shadows with evil. Neither do I equate beauty and white and light with good. So I would not call ones who use curses and only nasty intent “black” witches, wizards etc, Not at all. Nor would I call the other example a “white” witch. I’d call them a healer.
